It is hard to forget the taste of traditional recipes as it lingers in our taste buds. Vathakuzhambhu is a delicious south -Indian dish prepared with the simplest of components. It tastes delicious when stored for a day, as the taste deepens and flavour penetrates in the gravy. If you want to give a twist to your usual sambar try Ammae Vathakuzhambhu.Its also called Karakuzhambu.

- Tamarind powder
- Dry chilly
- Black gram dal
- Till
- Mustard seeds
- Asafetida powder
- Fenugreek
- Salt
- Turmeric powder
How to use:
- Step 1:Take 2 tbl spoon of Ammae Vathakuzhambhu, add 200-225ml of water, and mix it without lumps.
- Step 2:Add 1tsp of sesame oil (optional) to enhance the taste. Place it in the stove with medium flame and keep stirring (for 5-10 mins) till it thickens.
- Step 3:Add fresh curry leaves to serve. It is ready to be used along with rice.
- Step 4:It is optional to add ghee while having with rice which will help in enhancing the aroma and taste.
